About the event

Due to the overwhelming requests for one-on-one family sessions (which are not cost-effective for families as we would have to charge hundreds per family), we have opened this webinar so parents can attend with their tweens/teens. Tickets are by donation with a minimum of $8 just to help cover costs to produce the resources and the content.

These are public webinars and will NOT be recorded just in case  a child accidentally appears on the screen whilst it is being recorded.

Ticket holders will recieve essential resources and an action plan. These tools will empower your family to navigate the challenges of digital technology, whether it's preparing for your child's first phone or managing their app requests or if they are a young teen that has strayed off course.

Ideal for parents and their children aged 10-15yrs

Are you ready to empower your tweens/teens with the skills they need to navigate the online world safely and responsibly before they get their first smartphones?

Kirra will help you and your children:

Learn the skills to evaluate online information, communicate respectfully, protect their personal data, and identify potential risks.

The risks of sharing personal information online and photos and how to manage their privacy settings and their digital footprint effectively.

How to recognise and respond to cyberbullying, phishing scams, and inappropriate content.

Promote balanced screen time, mindful content consumption, and the emotional impact of online interactions.

Teach your children about the law and their online responsibilities.

Why boundaries are important, for their friendships and self-regulation of screen time.

How to manage group chats and what do you do when things get weird?

Why it is always safe to speak up.

And more...........

Why Attend?

Delaying smartphone ownership is not enough, they are not always with you and may have access without your knowledge. Teens and tweens need robust digital literacy skills to understand potential hazards and know how to seek help when encountering problematic content. By fostering these skills early, you can empower them to thrive online and make informed decisions, laying a foundation for healthy and positive online experiences.  Who Should Attend?  Parents of teens and tweens Educators and caregivers Tweens and Teens aged 10-15yrs  Anyone interested in promoting safe and responsible digital habits in young people

Speaker:  Kirra Pendergast – Is not just someone that did a few online courses and called themselves and expert she has lived and breathed the evolution of the internet and social media. Kirra has 33 years of international experience in cyber security, online safety, social media risk management, policy writing and consulting.
